Florida’s Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program (VPK) is a pioneering initiative that provides free preschool education for all 4-year-olds, regardless of family income. Since its inception in the 2005-06 school year, over 2.6 million children have benefited from the Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program (VPK). Data collected by the Florida Department of Education shows that children who participate in VPK are much more prepared for kindergarten than children who do not participate in VPK.
At Montessori Children’s Academy, we recognize the importance of the VPK Program for early childhood development. Parents can choose from several program options available in different educational settings, whether from private, public, or specialized instructional services providers. Providers have the flexibility to structure daily hours per week to meet the required number of instructional hours.
