Dear Parents,

Thank you for the interest you are expressing in Montessori Children’s Academy. Having worked with children and their families for the last 20 years as a Certified teacher and Head of School, I understand all too well that you are about to make one of the most important decisions of your child’s life; finding their first school. With the right parenting and school, the sky’s the limit for your child and his or her future.

You are probably trying to decide first which is the right learning system for your child, Montessori, Reggio, Waldorf or a traditional school. Although most Head of School’s will tell you that only their school’s philosophy works, the truth is that for every philosophy there is the right child. I would be lying if I told you that I didn’t feel Montessori is the best though; for me, my children, and my students it is. The question lies in your personal goals for your child and how he or she would best learn. I will tell you a little bit about our school and what we have to offer your child and family so that you can decide if it’s the right fit for both of you.

Research has shown that a child’s self-esteem is the key indicator for future success. The question is how we increase a child’s self-esteem. It is my opinion that our school does this in two very important ways. First, we offer a well-rounded program which strengthens your child’s mind and creativity through our rigorous academic program, Spanish bilingual immersion program, Music, Art, and Gardening. Second, we ensure the child’s spirit and body is taken care of every day. Our students learn daily and love to play outside, Creative Movement and Physical Education. We know that the child needs more than just to learn, they need a balanced program which will address the whole child! MCA provides all of this and a safe, caring environment where children can find their best self and have their parents be part of our involved school community.
